Opposition Accused of Attacking Nepal’s Foreign Policy and Nepali Army
Nepali Congress leader and Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, has accused the opposition of launching a relentless attack on the nation’s foreign policy and its prestigious institution, the Nepali Army (NA). During the ongoing Nepali Congress central committee meeting that commenced on July 18, Saud expressed his concerns, alleging that the opposition’s actions were driven by frustration over not securing desired positions in the government.
Saud pointed out that the opposition parties seemed disturbed by their current status in opposition and were resorting to unfair tactics to undermine Nepal’s domestic and foreign policies. He particularly emphasized that certain political parties were directing their attacks towards the Nepali Army, an institution widely respected for its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security.
“It seems that parties in the opposition are disturbed by their compulsion of staying in the opposition. Some parties are attacking the NA like an institute,” Saud stated during the meeting. He further advised the major ruling partner, Nepali Congress, to stay on the right path and move forward with confidence despite the challenges posed by the opposition’s actions.
The allegations made by NP Saud highlight the growing tensions and political struggles within Nepal’s government and opposition circles. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds and how the Nepali Congress and other ruling parties respond to these accusations while striving to maintain stability and progress in the nation’s domestic and foreign affairs.
