PM instructs officials to discharge their duty in changed context

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed officials to align their work with the common minimum programme of the government, adapted to the changed political context. During a half-yearly review meeting of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, held on Sunday, the PM urged officials to operate in accordance with the common minimum programme with increased dynamism.

“The policy and programme to be unveiled in the changed political context shall serve as the guiding principle for our office, all its line agencies, and the entire bureaucracy,” the PM stated, further announcing that the new common minimum programme would be released soon. “Officials should fulfill their duties accordingly,” he added.

During the meeting, PM Prachanda emphasized the need for monthly reviews of the work execution of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and its line agencies, urging attention to be directed towards identifying challenges. Additionally, he instructed officials to proceed by establishing routines to ensure the success of national pride projects.

PM Dahal emphasized that the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers should set an example for the entire bureaucracy, expressing dissatisfaction with the current progress. “Targets should be met within the specified deadlines. To achieve this, this office must take a leading role,” the PM emphasized, while instructing secretaries and divisional chiefs to be more proactive.

Furthermore, the PM directed officials of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and its line agencies to achieve at least 80 percent of the target by the end of the fiscal year. Additionally, he urged officials to prepare for the upcoming fiscal year, as the government was in the process of formulating the budget, policy, and programme for the next fiscal year.
