President Urges Spiritual Awakening on Mahashivaratri Festival
President Ramchandra Paudel has extended his heartfelt wishes for spiritual enlightenment to all Nepali citizens on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri festival today.
In a message of goodwill addressed to Nepali sisters and brothers residing both within the country and abroad, President Paudel expressed his fervent hopes for peace, prosperity, and joy to prevail among them.
“As we mark this sacred occasion, it is imperative that we pledge to conserve and foster our cultural and religious heritage,” remarked President Paudel, underlining the collective responsibility to preserve this rich legacy for future generations in its pristine form. He emphasized the significance of maintaining the purity of the Bagmati River, emphasizing its deep-rooted connection to our civilization.
President Paudel underscored the spiritual significance of Mahashivaratri, highlighting its role in facilitating human attainment of yoga and moksha. Fasting, nocturnal vigil, worship, and the chanting of Shiva hymns constitute the cornerstone of the Shivaratri observance, he reminded.
According to Vedic tradition, Lord Shiva embodies both the creative and destructive forces, encapsulating the essence of Truth, Divinity, and Beauty – a timeless legend passed down through the ages.
The Pashupati area stands as a beacon of spiritual contemplation for devout followers from around the globe. With sites such as the Manaskhanda, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, the Himabatkhanda where Shiva is said to tread, and the revered Pashupatkshetra, Nepal holds a special place in the hearts of devotees worldwide.
As Nepal embraces the spiritual fervor of Mahashivaratri, President Paudel’s message resonates, urging all to seek spiritual enlightenment and uphold the cherished traditions that bind us together as a nation.
