Tragic Pepsicola Road Accident Claims Two Lives

In a tragic incident that occurred this morning in Pepsicola, Kathmandu, two individuals have lost their lives among the 14 injured in a devastating road accident.

The incident unfolded at approximately 7:30 AM when a bus bearing license plate Ba.3Kha.4848, en route to Pepsicola from Jadibuti, collided head-on with a jeep registered as Ba.6Cha.5342, which was traveling in the opposite direction. Superintendent of Police Kumod Dhungel, the Spokesperson of District Police Range, Kathmandu, confirmed the details of the accident.

The collision had a cascading effect, causing additional mishaps on the road. A scooter with license plate Bagmati Province No. 02-037Pa 5311 and a motorcycle with license plate Bagmati Province No. 02-041Pa 4838 were also involved in subsequent collisions.

Tragically, two lives were lost in this harrowing incident. The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old motorcyclist Raj Bhattarai and 25-year-old Armed Police Force personnel Usha Thapa.

In the wake of the accident, the injured victims were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Some are currently receiving care at Motherland Hospital in Pepsicola, while others have been admitted to Civil Hospital in New Baneshwar.

The authorities have taken swift action, detaining the 24-year-old bus driver, Janak Raut of Ramechhap, believed to be responsible for the collision. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this tragic road accident.
