U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen in Nepal: Over 50 Key Meetings Planned

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, a prominent member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, has landed in Nepal for a crucial diplomatic mission.

During his visit, Senator Van Hollen will engage in high-level discussions and interactions with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, youth leaders, parliamentarians, and entrepreneurs. The primary aim of his trip is to enhance both political and commercial relations between the United States and Nepal.

The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu has underscored that Senator Van Hollen’s visit will serve as a platform to underscore the United States’ unwavering support for Nepal’s health sector and infrastructure development.

Senator Hollen’s office has expressed his commitment to fortify bilateral relations with Nepal and strengthen diplomatic ties in the region.

Over the course of the next eight days, Senator Van Hollen is slated to host more than 50 meetings with key figures, including government officials, representatives from civil society organizations, industry leaders, non-profit organizations, and local embassy staff. Additionally, he will connect with Americans and fellow Marylanders actively contributing to diplomatic efforts and commerce in Nepal.
