Earthquake Strikes Sindupalchok District, Tremors Felt in Kathmandu Valley

An earthquake with its epicenter in Majhitaar, Sindupalchok District, struck at 1:02 pm on Thursday, according to the National Earthquake Measuring and Research Centre.

The earthquake was recorded at a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt across the Kathmandu Valley, as well as in nearby areas including Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok, extending to regions within 50 kilometers of the epicenter.

Centre Spokesperson Monika Jha said today’s earthquake was an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake.
