Maoist Center Calls Urgent Meeting Following Vice Chairman Mahara’s Arrest

CPN (Maoist Center) has convened an emergency gathering of its office bearers in response to the recent arrest of its Vice Chairman, Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Mahara was detained in Bhairahawa on Monday on suspicion of involvement in a gold smuggling case, escalating tensions within the party.

The arrest follows recommendations from the Gold Smuggling Probe Commission urging legal action against Mahara concerning the aforementioned case. The Kathmandu District Court has granted authorities permission to hold Mahara in custody for four days to facilitate further investigation into the matter.

In light of these developments, CPN (Maoist Center) has slated the office bearers meeting for Tuesday morning at 8 AM. The gathering is scheduled to take place at the residence of Prime Minister and Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Baluwatar, where urgent deliberations regarding Mahara’s arrest and its implications are anticipated.
