Nepal Falls Short by 3 Runs Against Kuwait in T20I Final

Nepal narrowly lost to Kuwait by three runs in the final of the Four-Nation T20 International Cricket Series held at the Mission Road Ground in Hong Kong. Chasing a target of 175 runs, Nepal was bowled out for 171 runs in 19.3 overs.

Despite a shaky start, Nepal made a strong comeback through a 72-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Bashir Ahmed and Nandan Yadav. Bashir played a brilliant knock of 80 runs, while Nandan contributed 37 runs. However, their efforts fell just short as Nepal was unable to finish the chase.

Kuwait’s Anudeep Chenthamara was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets to help secure the win. Earlier, Kuwait had posted a total of 174 for 7 in their 20 overs after being invited to bat first. Ravija Sandaruwan top-scored for Kuwait with 63 runs. For Nepal, Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each.

Nepal had entered the final after topping the group stage, while Kuwait finished second. In the third-place playoff, hosts Hong Kong edged out Qatar by a single run. Hong Kong set a target of 189, and Qatar managed 187 for 5 in their full quota of overs.
