Oli Dismisses CPN-UML Entry into Socialist Front After Talks with PM Dahal

KP Sharma Oli, the Chairman of CPN-UML, has put an end to speculations regarding his party’s potential entry into the Socialist Front. This decision follows a crucial discussion held between Chairman Oli and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who also heads the CPN (Maoist Center).

Contrary to earlier reports circulating in political circles, which suggested a possible integration of CPN-UML into the Socialist Front, Chairman Oli has firmly clarified the party’s stance, refuting any such plans.

The clarification comes in the wake of a recent meeting between Prime Minister Dahal and Chairman Oli, during which the matter was thoroughly deliberated upon, leading to a conclusive decision.

The Socialist Front, formed on June 19, is composed of four parties, namely the Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, JSP, and the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand. Despite the Socialist Front’s earlier decision to extend an invitation to CPN-UML, Chairman Oli’s statement categorically denies any possibility of integration.

The emergence of the Socialist Front, with its collective representation of 54 lawmakers in the House of Representatives, has added a new dimension to Nepal’s political landscape. The newfound alliance of Samajwadi Morcha-affiliated parties has undeniably made its presence felt, signaling potential shifts and realignments in the country’s political dynamics.
