Oli Warns Against Self-Interest in Leftist Movement

In a recent meeting of the CPN (UML) parliamentary party, Chairman KP Sharma Oli issued a stark warning against the detrimental influence of self-interest within the leftist movement. Emphasizing the crucial need for unity among national forces to steer the nation towards good governance and prosperity, Chairman Oli underscored the significance of collective efforts in leading the country forward.

Addressing concerns over divisive elements within the party, Chairman Oli affirmed: “The leftist forces will unite at the right time but not with those who are harming the party.” He called for heightened effectiveness within the parliamentary committee, stating: “Our participation in the parliament should be lively and effective. A wrong decision should not be made by the parliament.”

Expressing disdain for vested interests that could compromise national welfare, Chairman Oli advocated for a robust parliamentary participation, urging MPs to prioritize national interest over personal agendas. Furthermore, he cautioned against excessive foreign visits by party members, stating: “The job of parliamentarians is to create laws… parliamentarians should not present themselves haphazardly.”

Highlighting the role of parliamentarians in legislative processes, Chairman Oli urged prudent decision-making and cautioned against undertaking development projects without adequate planning or feasibility. His directives signal a renewed commitment to advancing the nation’s interests while safeguarding the integrity of the leftist movement.
