Search for one of 72 people killed in the Pokhara plane crash is underway, said the Nepali Army.
Rescue teams already retrieved bodies of 71 people killed in the crash, and one of them is still missing, said Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the Army spokesperson.
Although the meeting of the Kaski District Security Committee on January 21 decided to withdraw search efforts, the Army has continued the search operation, he said.
The ATR 72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines with 72 people including four crew members onboard crashed into the Seti gorge in Pokhara on January 15, killing all of them. The plane was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
A joint rescue team of the Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force already took out bodies of 71 people killed in the incident, said Bhandari. The team also handed the black box found during the rescue efforts to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
