Unified Socialist Will Nominate Candidate for Upcoming By-Elections: Chairman Nepal

CPN-Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has announced the party’s intention to field a candidate for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for April 27. This announcement came during a meeting with elected district committee officials from the 10th district convention in Kavre on Monday.

Chairman Nepal expressed the party’s determination to contest the elections independently unless cooperation is sought from other parties. He asserted the party’s decision to nominate a candidate in Bajhang, despite ongoing discussions within the Socialist Forum and CPN-Maoist Center regarding candidate nominations in Ilam.

Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, and Chairman Nepal reportedly discussed the nomination of candidates for the upcoming by-elections during a meeting held on Monday morning.

Furthermore, Chairman Nepal stressed the party’s pivotal role in ensuring political stability, combating misconduct, and upholding the constitution. He underscored the importance of unity among all communists in Nepal and highlighted the necessity for favorable circumstances to achieve this unity.

During the recent completion of the 10th district convention on March 17, Chairman Nepal administered the oath of office to 58 district committee members chaired by Basundhara Humagain. He directed them to actively work towards enhancing the party’s popularity and took measures, including dismissing some members, to ensure the party’s progress.
